[Class 4] An aircraft bogie undercarriage has the land wheels connected with a supporting leg by levers extending fore-and-aft from pivotal attachments of the latter with the leg and swingable up and down against restraint provided by one or more shock absorbers, in which brake torque of non-rotating elements of brakes associated with the wheels is transmitted by links directly connecting the elements with the leg, and so positioned that the resultant of the forces acting on the corresponding wheel as a result of braking action will lie in a plane containing the axes of the lever pivot and wheel spindle. The undercarriage comprises four double wheels 11, the two near side wheels of which are removed in the Figure for clarity of illustration. The wheels are rotatable about parallel axes 12 and 13 arranged equal distances fore-and-aft of the supporting leg 14 to which the wheel spindles are connected by a pair of levers 15, 16 respectively, the levers being free to pivot about a common axis 17 at the lower end of the leg 14. Vertical swinging movement of the levers 15 and 16 is resisted by two shock absorbers 18, 19 pivotally connected at 20 to a link 21 freely pivoted to the lever pivot 17. Each double wheel 11 is fitted with a brake of the drum or plate type having a non- rotating brake arm 25 pivotally attached at 26 to one end of a torque link 27, the other end of which is so pivoted at 28 or 29 to the leg 14 that the links 27 are substantially parallel with the respective levers 15, 16.
