Abstract

638,757. Combing-machines. LORIMER, T. July 18, 1947, No. 19268. [Class 120 (i)] In a dabbing brush for a wool combing machine the securing bolts are combined with bolt retaining means associated with a carrier element for the brush, such that adjustment of the bolt spacing is effected by movement of one or each of said bolts, and movement of one or each of said bolt retaining means. As shown in Fig. 2, means for fixing a dabbing brush 4 to the dabber foot comprises a pair of transverse straps 10 of shallow inverted U-formation fixed to a brush carrier element 1 by bolts 12 located in slots 13 to enable the straps to be adjusted lengthwise of the brush. For lateral adjustment, slots 14 are provided in the straps for the fixing bolts 15. Other means for adjustably mounting dabbing brushes are described such as a block which is slidable in guides and in which the fixing bolts slide; eccentric means for mounting the fixing bolts; and bolts with large heads or washers movable in holes in a guide plate on the brush carrier element.
