638,577. Lens mounts. AMPRO CORPORATION. Aug. 8, 1947, No. 21784. Convention date, May 6, 1946. [Class 97 (i)] In a lens mount, particularly for a kinematograph projector, in which an externally threaded ferrule bearing the lens is axially and rotatably movable in a shell for coarse and fine focusing adjustment respectively, a clamp mounted on the shell has a part projecting into the bore for locking the ferrule against movement. As shown, the shell 5 carries a spring 10 urging a projection 12 thereon against the threading of a lens-carrying ferrule 7 so that the projection rides over the threads as the ferrule is moved axially, but engages therein to allow rotary fine adjustment of the ferrule. A clamp 14 pivoted at 15 has a cam surface 16 which may clamp the spring 10 to press the projection 12 against the ferrule to lock the latter. The mount may be used in conjunction with the film gate described in Specification 638,576.
