Abstract
607,751. Studio cameras. STEWART, J. C. Feb. 11, 1946, No. 4231. [Class 98 (i)] A studio camera is mounted for angular movement about a horizontal axis on an upwardly projecting rod pivoted on a fixed member about a horizontal axis therein (parallel to the pivot axis of the camera) and having cam means thereon whereby the focusing of the camera lens is correlated with the angular movement of the camera relative to the rod. As shown, a triangular rod 1, pivoted on a fixed member, has fixing snugly therein a lug 4 carrying a bracket 5 to which is pivoted at 5a a member 6 in which a lens mounting 7, spring- urged at 8, is slidable. The mounting 7 has two projecting pins 9 which resiliently engage the faces 10a of cams 10, also mounted on the bracket 5. Thus, as the lens mount pivots about the stud 5a, focus is maintained by movement of the lens through the pins 9 engaging the cam faces 10a. A cylindrical member 11 is rotatable about the member 6, axial movement thereof being prevented by a plate 12 which engages over a flange 6a on member 6 and is secured to an end plate 13 on member 11. The member 11 is provided with a view finder and may be rotated through a right angle due to a 90 degrees sector being cut out of the plate 12 so that photographs may be taken with the prism length vertical or horizontal, the film being carried by a member (not shown) which may be integral with or detachably mounted on the member 11.
