Abstract
638,489. Pulse delaying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. March 13, 1946, No. 7889. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1944. [Class 40 (vi)] A resonant circuit, shock excited by a driving pulse, produces a damped wave train having a negative fraction of a cycle followed by a positive half-cycle, the latter being utilized to produce a delayed pulse. A positive pulse from generator 10, applied to valve 11 causes tuned circuit 12, 13 to oscillate, the oscillations commencing with a negative half-cycle, which is ineffective when applied to thyratron 14, the valve firing at the commencement of the first positive half-cycle. The sudden fall in anode potential is fed over transformer 27 to produce the delayed output pulse. By employing a very short input pulse the negative-going portion of the oscillation set up in tuned circuit 12, 13 may be less than a half-cycle. The delay may be varied by altering the tuning of circuit 12, 13.
