Abstract

664,768. Pulse generating circuits. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 13, 1950 [March 9, 1949], No. 6366/49. Class 40 (vi). In a pulse generator as described in Specification 540,941, which comprises a reciprocally coupled pair of valves, one of which has a frequency determining circuit in its output, the steepness of the wavefronts of the generated pulse is increased by a resistor connected in series with the frequency determining circuit which causes the associated valve to undergo alternate rapid transitions from a conducting to a non-conducting state. The Figure shows a pulse generator comprising reciprocally-coupled valves 1, 2 in which the pulse repetition frequency is determined by the tuned circuit 3 and in which the resistor 10 ensures rapid changes between the conducting and non-conducting states in valve 1 so that the output pulse has steep leading and trailing edges.
