Abstract

638,392. Tripods. KODAK, Ltd., and NAGEL, H. Dec. 23, 1947, No. 34054. [Class 52 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIV] A photographic tripod or stand has a tubular housing 1 for a rack and pinion adjustment for controlling the height of the stand head support 2, the pinion being a disc 15 with peripherally set balls 14, protruding from its circumference, which engage with a series of spaced holes in the support 2 which is preferably tubular. The disc is operated by worm gearing mounted in an off-set casing 21 on the tube 1 and the stand head is preferably secured to the top of tube 2 by a ball and socket joint.
