Abstract

692,002. Levels. ADAMS, T., ADAMS, A. C., ADAMS, G. K., and ADAMS, W. H. Aug. 1, 1951, No. 18257/51. Class 97 (ii). A spirit level comprises a spirit level tube 6, Fig. 3, in a cut-away casing 12 affixed across a circular hollow core 1 by attachment in each side of the core, a fixed flange 2 round one end of the core, a removable, e.g. screwable, flange 7, Fig. 2, on the other end, and a base 3, Fig. 3, on which the core and its flanges can be affixed and varied in relation thereto to record a slope from the horizontal. The flange 2 has holes 4, Fig. 2, and screws 5, Fig. 3, passed through them to hold the spirit level tube 6 and base 3 in desired relationship. A screw passing through a hole in the flange 7 engages with the base 3 to prevent the flange from unscrewing. The fixed flange 2 is marked in degrees to enable the spirit level tube 6 to be affixed at a desired angle to the base 3.
