Abstract
638,041. Collapsable perambulators; perambulator spring suspensions. STADIUM PATENTS, Ltd., and COOKLIN, L. Jan. 8, 1948, No. 580. [Classes 108 (i) and 108 (ii)] A perambulator collapsable to case form comprises lid elements 11, connected to the upper edges 4 of the container sides 2 by short radius arms or pivoted links 8 which when the lid elements are alongside the container sides, Fig. 7, allow for a limited movement of the lid elements 11 in a vertical direction. The wheeled undercarriage parts are provided with hooks 23 which, when the undercarriage parts are swung into the operative position and the depending lid elements 11 are moved relatively to the container pass into engagement with the strap member 29x to retain the parts in the operative position. The wheels 15, Fig. 8, are rotationally mounted in forked members 16 which have a common pivotal connection at 17 to the bracket 18. Each wheel fork 16 is controlled by a helical compression spring 19 between the fork 16 and the shoulders formed by the bifurcated end of the arm 20. Specification 638,042 is referred to.
