Abstract

637,536. Resilient mountings for seats. GOODRICH CO., B. F. July 25, 1947, No. 20050. Convention date, Aug. 10, 1946. [Class 52 (i)] A tractor seat is adjustably mounted on an arm 11 by means of bolts passing through selected apertures 13. The inner end of the arm 11 is shaped to fit over a cylinder 14 and is secured thereto adjustably by a T-bolt and adjusting nut 15 passing through a lug 16. The cylinder 14 has an inner sleeve 17. relative rotation in an anticlockwise direction being prevented by co-operating projections and recesses 20, 21 and between the sleeve 17 and a shaft sleeve 19 is bonded an annular bush 18 of rubber to obtain torsion springing. The sleeve 19 is provided with end projections 22 meshing with projections 23 on bracket members 24 which are adjustably mounted on a mounting plate 25 secured to the tractor frame. Friction discs 29 are mounted between the brackets 24 and the cylinder 14 and pressure is regulated by means of spring washers 33 having spring tongues 34 and bolt 31 and fly-nut 32. Limiting stops 36, 40, which may be adjustable, are provided on the brackets 24 for co-operation with the flange 35 on the arm 11. Initial torsional stress is applied to the rubber bush 18.
