[Class 33 (iv)] Switching control.-A dimming device for a lamp comprises a capacitor adjusted by a rotary switch with resistors interposed in the leads to the condenser units. As shown, the resistors 17 are between the condenser block 19 and the switch 8 which alters the number of series-connected condensers in parallel with the lamp. In a modified form the condenser block is in the base of the table lamp.
