635,918. Thermally - actuated valves. HAMILL, W. W. Aug. 19, 1947, No. 16179. [Class 135] Thermostatic apparatus, e.g. for use in the cooling water circuit between an engine, radiator and pump, comprises a casing having two orifices controlled by two bi-metallic strip members coupled together. The casing has a fluid inlet 3 and two outlets 4, 5. The bimetallic strips have their movable portions 6, 6 joined by a link 10 so that as one outlet is opened the other closes. The strips are supported in the casing by curved embracing portions 8, 9, fitting into a recess in the casing and abut on each other at 13, 14, and on the casing at 12. The strips may be incorporated in a removable ported inner casing as a unit and may be laminated.
