Abstract

A delay valve, for use in a fluid circuit system whereby fluid is initially delivered at a relatively low pressure and rate of flow for causing start-up operation of a motor to prevent damage to components driven by the motor followed by full flow at full pressure, has a casing 40 with inlet and outlet ports 41, 42 and a valve member 75 movable within the casing. A pair of flow-restricting orifices 80, 81, including one in the valve member, permits limited fluid flow at a reduced pressure to the motor and additionally permits controlled opening movement of the valve member against the action of a spring 76 to open a second flow passage through ports 77 whereby fluid can flow at full pressure to the motor at a desired rate. <IMAGE>
