Abstract
634,505. Distributing valves. VICKERS, Inc. March 27, 1947, No. 8328. Convention date, March 30, 1946. [Class, 122(ii)] The valve for distributing working fluid to alternate ends of the cylinder 32 comprises a spool 58, with end bands 66, 68, smaller central bands 60, 62, and transverse passages 74, 76. Initial longitudinal movement of the valve is made mechanically by the arm 84, moved by dogs attached to the piston rod 42. This allows pressure fluid to pass through the partially opened passages 74, 76 and so exposes the end faces 96, 98 of the valve to fluid pressure, thus, completing the throw of the valve.
