634,360. Percussive drills. STALDER, F. Oct. 29, 1945, No. 6924/48. Divided out of 634,296. [Class 124] [Also in Groups XXIJ and XXXV] In a reciprocating tool motor, a separate motor is provided to impart rotary motion to the reciprocating driven member, the motor rotor being wound on the tool carrying member. As shown in Fig. 1, the riveting tool e<SP>1</SP> is given reciprocatory motion by the armature a<SP>1</SP> when the coil c<SP>1</SP> is energized by alternating current or with pulsating current through an interrupter and is rotated by the squirrel cage rotor m<SP>1</SP> co-operating with a salient pole stator f<SP>1</SP>. A shock absorber g<SP>1</SP> is provided to take the blows of the armature. The tool e<SP>1</SP> may co-operate with another aligned tool given a rising and falling motion of a cam. In the crusherscreener shown in Fig. 4, the stamper is rotated by motor h<SP>5</SP>, g<SP>5</SP> and reciprocated by the interaction of armature j<SP>5</SP> and coil k<SP>5</SP>, whereby material passing through the screen b<SP>5</SP> and hollow shaft f<SP>5</SP> is crushed and ground on the table s<SP>5</SP> which may have a grooved surface and the crusher likewise, and there may be several crushers in cascade. The table s<SP>5</SP> may also be reciprocated by an electromagnetic device or have compound motion. Specification 634,296 is referred to.
