[Class 35] A vibratory motor consists of at least two electromagnets arranged opposite one another on either side of an armature spring connected to the electromagnet member, the latter or the armature being secured to the screen, conveyer, &c. to be vibrated and the other member being freely swingable in space within the limits imposed by the springs. The electromagnets are energized by the halfwaves of a rectified alternating current. In the form shown, the member 2 secured to the device to be vibrated carries four armatures 4 co-operating with the four electromagnets carried by the frame 5, 7, 9 connected to the armature member 2 by springs 3 and weights 8 increase the inertia of the electromagnet frame. The electromagnet coils may be connected to half-wave rectifiers in series or parallel connected pairs.
