Abstract
634,231. Milk churns. MORTON, L. July 16, 1947, No. 18982. [Class 66] A seamless milk churn 10 has a neck 14 with an external machined bearing surface 20, protected by a guard-ring 26, and a robust seamless lid 16 with a corresponding internal bearing surface on its wall 18. The latter surface may be some way from the free edge of the wall 18. The ring 26 may have the same diameter as the body of the churn, may project above the neck 14 and may be secured thereto by lugs 24 so that parts of the ring between the lugs form hand-holds. The top of the lid may be dished and may wholly contain a handle 30. The lid may fit bayonet-wise on the neck as by ramps 32 around the edge of the wall 18 which engage projections 34 on the lugs 24. The base 12 may be inturned and fitted with a ring 36 with spaces 38 therein facilitating gripping.
