607,109. Lids of containers. METAL CONTAINERS, Ltd., and CROSS, E. W. Jan. 25, 1946, No. 2574. [Class 66] A keg or pail &c. 1 has a recessed lid 4, the flange of which has pairs of slots 5 so that short lengths 3<1> may be squeezed inwardly to grip the bead 2, these lengths being notched &c. to facilitate opening, as by a screwdriver 8 bearing against a rib 6. A sealing wire may be secured through tags on flange parts 3. The bottom of the keg &c. is reduced in diameter to fit within the recess in the lid to facilitate stacking. A gasket may be fitted.
