Abstract
An insecticide comprises D.D.T. and sulphur, the former ingredient being present in proportions of 0.5 to 15 per cent of the composition. In making the insecticide, D.D.T. and previously ground sulphur may be mixed together; or the D.D.T. and the sulphur may be ground together, the D.D.T. preferably being added to molten sulphur while stirring, followed by cooling, prior to the grinding step. Sulphur conditioners, wetting agents, other insecticides, hexaethyl tetraphosphate, sodium fluoride, free nicotine, or nicotine sulphate, or inert materials such as pyrophyllite, may be added to the composition.
