Abstract

A volatile insecticide comprises a mixture of D.D.T. and one or more readily vaporisable solid chlorinated hydrocarbons, such as paradichlorbenzene and/or hexachlorethane, the amount of D.D.T. in the mixture not exceeding 10 per cent. According to an example, 1 per cent of D.D.T. is dissolved in a molten mixture of equal proportions of parachlorbenzene and hexachlorethane, and thereafter the mass is solidified and pulverised. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also compositions comprising any insecticidal ingredient and a readily vaporisable solid substance, of which naphthalene and camphor are given as examples. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
