Abstract

A vaporizable insecticidal composition comprises in solid form a gamma isomer of benzene hexachloride and a readily vaporizable solid carrier with which the active ingredient is incorporated. Suitable carriers are naphthalene and camphor, but preferably paradichlorbenzene and/or hexachlorethane. The mixture may be prepared by melting the carrier, dissolving the gamma benzene hexachloride therein and allowing the mixture to solidify. An additional insecticidal substance such as D.D.T. may be added to the composition. The composition may be distributed in finely divided form in an air current produced by a vacuum cleaner.
