[Class 44] [Also in Group VII] A fastening device for a cord such as a shoe-lace and shown in section in Fig. 2, comprises a pin 1 having a base 5 and a head 4, a resilient member 3 under the head and a washer 2, longitudinally movable on the pin having its underside formed with radial notches. The distance between the washer 2 and the base 5 is such that the cord when wound round the pin is gripped by the pressure of the washer and the notches therein. The resilient member may be a rubber washer or a steel spring. The fastener may be applied to fasten shoe-lace ends as shown in Fig. 1, the lace being gripped between the washer and the leather t of the shoe.
