[Class 75 (i)] [Also in Groups XXIX, XXXII and XXXVII] In a dashpot controlled device (see Group XXXII) which may be used with an incinerator employing a gas burner, the dashpot piston rod d may be adapted to be moved inwardly of the dashpot cylinder against its spring c by the opening of the door of the incinerator prior to charging. Closure of the door releases the piston rod which during its controlled return-stroke under the action of the spring c, effects a reduction in fluid pressure in a cylinder n whereby to open a gas outlet r to a burner, the outlet r being normally closed by a spring loaded valve q. When the dashpot piston reaches a byepass groove m in the dashpot cylinder, the fluid pressure in cylinder n is restored and the valve q closes the outlet r under the action of its spring.
