Abstract
In a method of reducing the proportion of hydrogen in coke over gas by passing a stream over a porous boundary on the opposite side of which a sweep gas comprising a high specific gravity fuel gas such as producer or blast-pressure gas is flowing, steam or other condensable vapour is mixed with the sweep gas before entry into the diffusion apparatus.
