Abstract

632,761. Wheeled luggage carriers. SMITH, J. W., and MINGO, H. E. Sept. 11, 1947, No. 24929. [Class 108 (i)] A wheeled device for the handling of trunks or the like comprises a pair of members adapted to be arranged at right angles to one another to engage a corner of, and be secured by strapping to, the said trunk, and is characterized by the said members being pivoted together to enable them to be folded against one another when not in use. In the embodiment shown, wheels 6 are carried in hangers 5 attached to a flange 7 of the plate 1. The plate 2 mounts lugs 4 hinged by rivets 3 to the hangers 5 and is held perpendicular to plate 1 by coaction with flange 7. A strap 9 passes through guides 8 and round the trunk to be carried and is formed into a handle 12 (Fig. 4, not shown). A modification is described in which the hangers 5 are hinged, enabling the wheels to be folded up parallel to plate 2.
