Abstract

632,404. Electric indicators. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. July 18, 1947, No. 19280. Convention date, Aug. 24, 1946. [Class 40 (i)] The pivoted armature 4 of a two-position indicator operated by an electromagnet 1 is maintained in its upper position before operation of the electromagnet and in its lower position after operation by permanent magnets 11 and 12 respectively. These magnets are mounted in brass bushings 13, 14 and act on a small piece of magnetic material 15 carried on the aluminium indicator 7 which is viewed through a grill 9. The armature is reset manually by knob 18. Magnets 11 and 12 may be of horse-shoe type or may each form one leg of a permanent magnet having an extra leg common to both magnetic paths.
