Abstract

632,038. Nails. RUBLEE, N. C. Jan. 16, 1948, No. 1466. Convention date, July 18, 1946. [Class 89 (ii)] An insulated nail has the head 6 covered by a layer of synthetic resinous &c. material 5 with a flat undersurface 9 provided with a ring of pointed projections 12 that penetrate the insulation of wires to be secured to a wall &c. The insulation extends down the shank at 8 with a portion 10 of reduced thickness terminating in an edge 11 to enable the insulation to penetrate the wall surface. In a modification the insulation is moulded separately and the nail is driven into a recess therein surrounded by an upstanding flange that is spun down to cover the head.
