[Class 58] [Also in Group II] A flour-milling machine comprises a casing 10 having a rotating plate 29 therein, the upper wall of the casing being substantially parallel to the plate and being provided with a ring of stationary impactors C which extend downwardly between two concentric rings of impactors A, B. mounted on the plate. The casing 10 stands on legs 11, and is provided with hoppers 21, 22, through which the grain is fed to a central opening 14 in the casing. The axle 25 of a motor 24 passes through the opening, and to the lower end of this axle is secured a rotatable treating element 26 comprising a conical hub 27, which acts as a distributor. carrying the plate 29 which is provided with'two concentric rows A and B of impactors consisting of rectangular projections on the face of the disc. Mounted on a collar 33 on the casing is an annular plate 32 carrying a stationary ring C of cylindrical impactors, concentric with, and lying between the two rings of moving impactors. The height of the fixed impactors above the plate 29 is adjustable by the rotation of the collar 33. The grain, after passing through the central opening 14 falls on to the hub 27 and is thrown into the path of the impactors. The milled grain escapes over the edge of the disc, and is deflected by the inclined wall 15b into an outlet. shoot 18.
