[Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Groups VII and XXII] A decorative article consisting of moulded bodies mounted on threads, wires, webbing, &c. which have been embedded in the bodies during moulding, the bodies carrying small metal plates or metal foils, is made by laying the plates or foils in the mould, positioning the threads, &c. in the mould under tension, and then pressing, spraying or casting material into the mould to form the moulded bodies. Fig. 12 shows a compression mould, metal plates 33 being placed in the lower mould part 32 and the threads lying between the meeting faces of the lower mould part and the upper mould part 37. Annular recesses 36 form beadings which secure the plates in position. Fig. 14 shows a casting, spraying or pressure casting mould for making an article similar to that shown in Fig. 10. The article of Fig. 10 comprises a body having two separately-moulded parts 30, 31, the part 30 having a beading 29 which holds the metal plate 28 in place and the part 31 carrying the threads 11. In Fig. 14, first the part 47 is moulded on the threads in a separate moulding device, and then this moulded part is placed in the mould part 49, bearing on the metal plate 50, whereupon material is injected to form the part 30.
