629,816. Automatic firearms. VERWALTUNGSGES. DER WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. Dec. 11, 1947, No. 32729. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1946. [Class 92 (ii)] Rounds of ammunition are fed to a firearm 1 by two unconnected chains 12, one supporting the noses and the other the bases of the rounds, the chains being wound on a shaft 9 in a container 5 whose walls act as lateral guides for the chains. Near the exit of the container chain guides 14 open out whereby the chains become detached from the rounds which then proceed through a feed channel 2 on the firearm. Power-driven feeding devices 6, 3, are arranged respectively in the container and guide channel. The links of the chain shown become detached from each other and are received by a container 8.
