Abstract
629,690. Injectors. SHANKS & CO., Ltd., and SHANKS, G. M. March 28, 1947, No. 8429. [Class 71] In an injector device for a shower fitting comprising a housing 3 having hot and cold water inlets 9, 11 and injector nozzle 1 for the passage of cold water and a venturi tube 10 co-axial with the nozzle 1, the latter is axially movable to a position whereby cold water flows not only through but past the nozzle 1 and thence flows exclusively through the venturi tube 10 into an outlet 12 leading to the shower fitting. In normal operation a valve 5 on the nozzle 1 is seated on an annular partition 6. On retracting the nozzle by a hand wheel 4 and consequent unseating of the valve 5 cold water is allowed free access to the venturi tube 10 and the increased pressure effects closure of a non-return valve in the hot water inlet.
