Abstract

628,785. Flexible-tube pumps. ROWLEY, D. W. Oct. 16, 1947, No. 27690. [Class 110 (ii)] The tube 17, forming the pumping chamber, is thicker on the outer side 17d than on the inner, and is approximately elliptical in cross-section with pointed ends. The tube is pressed upon by one or more rollers 18, 19, adjustable on arms driven by a shaft 21, or an eccentric may be used. A number of pump units may be arranged with a common driving shaft. the rollers or eccentrics being angularly displaced relative to one another for balancing purposes. The tube may be encased in canvas 17c or the like.
