628,240. Dry contact rectifiers. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Sept. 26, 1947, No. 26144. Convention date, Oct. 30, 1946. Drawings to Specification. (Class 37] A method of manufacturing a selenium rectifier comprises applying to the free surface of the selenium layer a coating of a solution or suspension of magnesium thiosulphate in a volatile organic solvent, e.g. in alcohol or acetone. A selenium-coated iron base-plate is dipped in a solution formed as described above, and on withdrawal, after the organic medium has evaporated, is sprayed with cadmium or an alloy thereof. The rectifier is then heat-treated and electro-formed.
