Abstract

627,739. Toothbrush. VALETTE, E. Jan. 16, 1947, Nos. 1522 and 1523. Convention dates, Jan. 15, 1946 and June 14, 1946. [Class-19] In a tooth brush having a container for dentifrice as part of the handle, the bristles are fed with dentifrice through a capillary which leads from the container and opens out into a trough before the bristles are reached. In Fig. 1 the container B has a piston 14, actuated by a screw-threaded rod 12 and knob 10 which enables the container to be filled and also forces the dentifrice through capillaries 9, 5 to the trough 6. In a modification, Fig. 5, the lower part a of the handle B holds a replaceable container b of glass, plastic, metal, &c. having a capillary nozzle in line with the brush head, and a seal 22 which acts as a piston. This seal 22 of rubber or cork, is actuated by a screw-threaded sleeve d moved by rod c with knurled knob f. In a further modification, the replacable container b and the part a are combined.
