Abstract
394,231. Reservoir brushes. WALLACE, S. E., Plattsburg, New York, U.S.A. Nov. 18, 1932, No. 32660. [Class 19.] A reservoir brush is fed by a piston 5, Fig. 1, in a cylinder 10. The piston is connected in a detachable manner as by a thread 20 with a rod 7 operated by an outside handle 16. The piston - rod is continued by a rod 8 which, when the rod 7 is disconnected from the piston, is passed into a passage 4 in the brush head so as to close the passage and prevent caking of paste &c. The passage 4 communicates with an outlet 6 surrounded by a circular or other setting of bristles in the middle of the brush. The reservoir can be filled by a flexible tube 14, Fig. 2, of paste. The piston 5 has projections 19, Fig. 1, which engage other projections 18 on the end of the reservoir so that it can be held while the rod 7 is disengaged from the piston. The brush head is detachable from the reservoir and may have a detachable cover. The device may be used with tooth or shaving brushes.
