[Class 98 (ii)] The machine has a cylinder, part at least of which is transparent, enclosing a lamp and an air duct which directs air circumferentially over the inner surface of the cylinder, the heated air being extracted from at least one end of the cylinder, whereby an axial component is imparted to the air currents in the cylinder and cool air is drawn in through the duct. In the form shown, the transparent cylinder 17, through which pass the lamp 18 and the air duct 37, is supported by endless bands 23 on rollers 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30. Air is exhausted from the casing by the fan 32 and enters at the ends of the duct 37 which are open and extend outside the casing. It leaves the duct through a row of holes 38, travels helically and emerges from the end of the cylinder. Air also enters the casing between the bands at the point where the tracings 19 and paper 20 are fed from the table 26 and also through the tray 39 where they emerge. The print is thereby held to the bands which carry it up into the developing part of the apparatus, while the tracing 19 falls off into the tray. Another form of apparatus is described of the form having a stationary printing cylinder.
