626,312. Collapsable gates. WITHERS, J. S. (New Castle Products, Brenner, R. A., and Planeaux, M. J.). July 4, 1946, No. 20002. [Class 45] Relates to collapsable doors or partitions in which a post 1 is fixed to a wall and a movable post 3 is connected to it by one or more horizontally collapsable series of strap or hinge plates 5, the plates being hingedly connected at their ends but not interlaced or otherwise combined with any other series of plates. According to the invention a lazytongs 10 arranged in a vertical plane is connected to the horizontally collapsable series by connections 12 which, with the terminal hinge axes 6, 7 and alternate intermediate hinges axes 8 of the horizontal series 5, lie in the vertical plane of the lazytongs 10. The connections between the two series are the pintles 12 of the hinges 8 which extend downwardly to the upper joints 11 of the lazytongs 10. The movable post 3 is supported on a trackway by rollers 4.
