626,106. Basket and field stretchers. GLOVER, W. May 20, 1947, No. 13486. Convention date, Feb. 12, 1942. [Class 108 (i)] A stretcher comprises a flat base and hinged side and end panels, of tubular framework, covered with meshed material. The panels may be swung from horizontal to vertical positions and secured to form the walls of a basket, or adjusted to raked positions. Handles are provided by the spaces at 22 and 27. A mattress may be secured by press-stud fasteners to either face of the base, so permitting the inverted stretcher to be used as a cot. The side bars 28 and loop 36, projecting through the mattress, form suitable loops for strap fastenings. A detachable splint panel, Fig. 3, fits above the basemember 35 secured by the bolt 38 and is coupled at 41 to the vertical foot-rest 20.
