[Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Groups VIII and XVII] A method of joining fibre board sheets to form boxes comprises enclosing the edge of one board 3 in a channel of sheet metal 1, one side of the channel having out-' wardly protruding spikes 2, and bending the enclosed edge over to form a groove, the spikes pointing inwardly. A second board 7 is inserted into the groove which is closed by pressing, the spikes 2 entering and gripping the material. The spikes are pressed from the sheet metal and may be in single or double rows. The channel may be corrugated. The channel-enclosed edge may be chamfered or recessed to enable the edge 13 of the second board to be held in the groove prior to pressing, or tabs on the second board may enter slots in the groove, their extending ends being gripped to hold the second board in position.
