Abstract
624,866. Non - contact - making relays. BARANOWSKI, J., MILNES, A. G., and HUDSON, C. S. June 28, 1946, No. 19407. [Class 40 (iv)] An amplifying unit comprises two magnetic amplifiers each having two saturable cores 14, 15. The A.C. output of each amplifier is rectified at 24 to produce a D.C. output in a load resistance 28 and a D.C. feed-back over a winding 25 on the appropriate amplifier cores. The two load resistances 28 are connected in series opposition and the combined output is taken from terminals 31, 34. Part of the combined output is also fed over a winding 32 common to the cores of both amplifiers. A variable bias can be applied to the winding 36 and the D.C. control is applied to winding 35. The feed-back over windings 32 and 25 can be adjusted by resistors 33 and 27. The effect of the feed-back over windings 32 is to change the input/output characteristic from 51 to 52, Fig. 5. The characteristic can be displaced as shown at 53 by adjustment of current in the bias winding 36.
