624,305. Protective covers for furniture. PEARCE, T. E. May 23, 1945, No. 12825. [Class 94(i)] A cover for protecting furniture for storage or transport is shaped to the overall configuration of the article and has an inner lining secured over the whole or part of its inner surface. The outer canvas cover 2 is in sections and has an inner lining 1 of felt or the like, corresponding sections of which are slightly smaller and are stitched to the outer section about half an inch in from the edge, raw edges of the canvas being turned in. The several sections are then secured together by oversewing. In large sections the two layers may be stitched through or quilted to prevent sagging. Tying tapes 5 and 6 are provided for securing the cover to an article. A tail piece 4 is stitched to the top of the cover to protect the back. A loop to hold an identification label may be provided attached to the front portion of the cover.
