Abstract
622,364. Folding seats. BACKLUND, K. March 13, 1947, No. 7016. Convention date, March 14, 1946. [Class 52 (ii)] A seat standard which can be folded to facilitate stacking of the seats comprises a member 4 forming a back support and front leg, a member 5 forming the seat support and rear leg, and a front strut 8 pivoted to the front ends of the other members. The member 5 consists of two closely spaced angle-irons which can be clamped together by a bolt 7 to grip the member 4 mounted therebetween. In folding, the clamp is released and the member 5 swung down about a pivot 9 until the strut 8 enters the space between the angle-irons, the member 3, which is of T section, is then swung forwardly about a pivot 10 until its cross flange abuts the seat slats 1.
