[Class 119] An air gun has a pneumatic cylinder 22 fitted at its rear end with a breech-piece 38, a cap 40 rotatable on the breech-piece, and a breech-block 45 pivoted on one of the breech parts 38, 40, means being provided for moving the breech-block about its pivot when the cap is rotated, whereby a hole in the breech-block can be brought into or out of register with an opening in the breech-piece In the form illustrated, the breech-block is pivoted at 43 to the breech-piece and bears against a packing annulus 46 on the breech-piece. Rotational movements of the cap are transmitted to the breech-block by a coil of a spring 52 attached at one end to the breech-block and bearing frictionally against the inside of the cap. The device is described in combination with the air gun forming the subject of Specification 621,417.
