621,342. Cycle brakes. LUPIS, P. Feb. 19, 1947, No. 4862. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1941. [Class 136 (i)] In a hydraulic brake for bicycles, motor cycles and the like with the pump arranged in the handlebar and a tube system constituted by a rigid tube, the portion of the tube system 36 which is housed inside the cycle frame 37 has its forward end in the interior of the front fork tube 34, and this end is connected to the end of the portion of the tube system 33 fixed in the handlebar 6 by means of a union 39, 40 the axis of which coincides with the axis of rotation of the handlebar. The tubing 33 terminates in a branch connection 38 from which leads a tube 331 connecting with a core 30 for the front wheel brake, and a second tube 361 for connection with the tube 36 through a swivel joint. The joint comprises two co-operating bell-shaped members 39, 40, the bell-shaped openings being screwed together with a washer 41 interposed. The end of thetube 36 carries a nipple 43 and the member 40 is drilled to permit the passage and rotation of this and part of the tube which is connected to the rest of the tube 36 by a sleeve 46. The nipple has an annular groove for a rubber sleeve 42 pressed against the nipple 43 by a spring 44, the opposite end of which abuts against a teat 45 pressing against the bell 39. The tube 36 is stationary and is led from the frame 37 and enters the lower opening of the steering bar.
