[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Act,s, Jan. 6, 1947.] [Class 97 (iii)] A vertical member 6, Fig. 1, adapted to traverse the drawing-board 1 horizontally and serve as a guide for a drawing instrument, is mounted at one end only on a carriage 5 supported on a runway 2 extending along a horizontal edge of the board by means of rollers 3 ; the rollers are mounted on antifriction bearings and, as shown in Fig. 2, have curved peripheries whereby each roller is guided by the runway 2 of U-section at two opposite points. A member 8, having a hole 9 and a slot 10, in either of which a pencil may be inserted, is slidable in a channel 7 in the member 6. A scale 12 is adjustably mounted in a slot 11. A parallelogram guide 14 for an angularly adjustable square 15 is secured to the vertical member 6, or may be adjustably mounted in a further channel, not shown. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the square, instead of being mounted on a parallelogram, is adapted to slide along the lengthwise channel 7 in the vertical member and to be frictionally retained in any position. The corner of the square is arranged to serve as a rest for the pencil point. One limb of the square carries a protractor and at least one angularly adjustable ruler co-operating with it.
