Abstract
619,893. Feeding single packets. HARVEY, V. P., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Sept. 2, 1947, No. 26458/46. [Class 94 (i)] A vertical stacker for a packing or wrapping machine comprises a reciprocating claw 3, adapted to remove single packets from the top of the stacker 2, a sloping surface 16 down which a packet so removed is caused to slide at an angle of less than 90 degrees, an oscillating flap 18 adapted to engage said packet on the surface 16 and complete the translation of the packet through a total angle of substantially 90 degrees and a resilient stop comprising a pivoted spring- urged pawl 26 to control the fall of the packet or to a support 17. The claw 3 is fixed on the end of a lever 5 pivoted at 6 to a lever 7 oscillating about a pivot shaft 8 journalled in the frame, to which shaft is fixed a lever 10 pivoted at 11 to a driven connecting rod 12. The lever 5 is caused to reciprocate along a fixed cam 15 through a roller 14 and spring 4. The flap 18 passes through the plate 16 and is moved by the lever 19 pivoted on a shaft 20 journalled in the frame, to which shaft is fixed a lever 21, pivoted at 22 to a driven connecting rod 23.
