[Class 83 (iv)] A draw-bench having a carriage k operated by a pair of hydraulic cylinders a, a arranged parallel to and on opposite sides of, the line of draw, has the axes of the cylinders equidistant from and in the same plane as the line of draw. The cylinders are rigidly anchored to the bench and the free ends of the rams h are coupled by a cross-head j on the carriage. The cylinders may be double-acting or the return stroke may be effected by a third and smaller cylinder. The length of stroke may be varied by a slidable rod, on one of the carriage guides l, which carries adjustable stops engaged by a projection on the cross-head.
