Abstract

619,420. Tents. SHUTE, A. A. T. Feb. 25, 1947, No. 36333/46. '[Class 20(i)] A tent comprises two side walls 1, 2 which meet along an inclined ridge 4 and a wall 3 forming a ground sheet, all the walls 1, 2 and 3 being substantially triangular. The walls may be formed as separate panels joined together, with their margins overlapping, either permanently or detachably. Guys, e.g. 12, 14 pass through loops 11 along the junctions between the panels and are secured to one peg 15 at the pointed end of the tent. The other end of the ridge guy 14 is secured to a convenient object e.g. a tree. The base guys are secured to pegs 16 and may be extended to a further peg 17. An additional guy 18 may stretch from the peg 17 to the apex of the opening. The opening may be supported by a collapsable framework 9. The closure flap 8 of the opening is formed by a triangular extension of the wall 3, which may be pegged down to extend the groundsheet when the tent is opened. The guy 18 may support a canopy 19 above the opening.
