Abstract

619,004. Tubular electric heaters. RISELEY, W. B. Nov. 19, 1946, No. 34187. [Class 39 (iii)] A heater for garden frames or incubators comprises resistance wires 5 mounted in diamondshaped tubes formed in pairs from opposed pressed metal casings 1, which are riveted or welded together along a flat intermediate neck 20 to which L-shaped brackets 7 are attached,. The wires 5 are passed through slightly staggered holes in insulating discs 4 supported on metal rods 3 held in insulating end caps 9 carrying terminal members 12. The end caps 9 are flanged to project into the tubes and have upper projecting hoods 8. The heaters may comprise more than two tubes and are painted black. The brackets 7 may have prongs to earth the casing. Several heaters may be connected in series, the end heater having a thermostat at one end.
