Abstract

618,935. Turning. WILLIAMS, J. Nov. 14, 1946, No. 33789. [Class 83 (iii)] A lathe has an arch- or triangular-shaped bed 6 and sliding parts of complementary shape having hook-like projections 11 engaging flat faces 7 at the base of the arch against which the projections are pulled by means to secure the sliding parts in adjusted position. A rib 10 on the bed centralizes the parts. A tailstock 23 is secured to a base 22 by a hollow screw 28 passing through a slot 25 to allow setting-over. The base is clamped to the bed by a screw 27 and interposed strip 19. A hand-tool rest 13 is similarly mounted by a hollow screw 17 and clamping screw 18 to allow transverse and angular adjustment.
